What is an energy certificate?
The energy certificate calculates the expected heating demand of the property and determines the energy class of a property similar to an electrical appliance in 8 classes from A++ blue (lowest energy consumption) to G red (highest energy consumption).
What do I need for an energy certificate?
For the preparation of an energy certificate, the submission plan of the property, information about any renovations that have been carried out and information about windows and heating (for commercial properties also cooling) are required.
How long is an energy certificate valid?
The energy certificate has a validity
of 10 years and is valid from the date of issue.
Renewal or recalculation is required after the expired period.

In order to assess the energy condition of buildings, the Building Energy Act (GEG) stipulates that an energy certificate must be available.
